I have been working on the infrastructure of the ‘Wider Church’ part of the site, with the focus at this stage on Africa. Building the infrastructure for the Wider Church part of the site will take some time to complete, but I think the effort will be worth it and will provide the backbone for what I hope to achieve with it. I do believe this is a very important aspect of the site overall.
The many months of frustration are other – my hosting issues have now been sorted and work has begun on the site once again. For quite some time, I had been unable to update ‘Kevin’s Portal’ and then it disappeared completely. I have finally been able to move that entire site over to the hosting service I use for everything else and it is all up again, along with a few improvements and continuing enhancements. I am just so pleased to have finally got it all sorted, as now I can get on with the work.
Slowly but surely this link will become available across all of my sites – I think all of the Blogs have been updated, along with a few other social networks and web applications (with many more to be updated).
I have also been working on the ‘Wider Church’ section of the site. I am keen to have a page for every nation of the world there eventually, along with various facts and pieces of information concerning the Lord’s work in these places (especially from a Reformed perspective). I will have RSS feeds concerning these countries from my Random Thoughts Blog, which will include various articles and videos on persecution in those countries. This will take time to achieve, but the work has begun.
I have been carrying out a few improvements across the site, with more content beginning to become available on the site. I know this is taking a long time and a lot of what was available before I moved hosting sites is still not available here. I’m hoping to accelerate this process to the best of my ability – however, personal circumstances have prevented this to this point and it has frustrated me admittedly.
In the last few days there have been some minor improvements to the Wider Church section, the library and a couple of other spots. Hopefully as these improvements continue the overall site will begin to become more useful more quickly also.
I have included a major update to the wider church pages, which so far only include the countries of Ecuador, India and Mongolia – however, this will allow me to press ahead with pages for other countries around the world as well, which is something I have wanted to do for a while.
The important part of this update has been to include a feed of categories for each country posted in my Random Thoughts blog, as this will provide a very easily accessed archive of posts concerning incidents of persecution in the country concerned, news reports, etc.
Just a few more updates to the site – well more than a few really. The Wider Church section of the site has been updated and all of the sermons section of the site – with the exception of the sermons on John (these will be added soon).
