Confessional Standards and Network Pages Up

I have now been able to get both the Confessional Standards and the Particular & Reformed Baptist Home Fellowship Network sections of the site back up. These are now fully available online again, complete with the latest social media sharing buttons. Access is via the directory on the left hand side of the home page.

Redundant Blogs and Sites

Since my extended break, which I mentioned briefly in the previous post, a number of Blogs and sites became redundant. Some were already so, though I kept them as archived Blogs. I will be removing a number of these sites now as they are superfluous to the current needs of the site and I think they can tend to be very confusing.

I have already removed such links from the front page of the site and will remove them from other pages as they return online.

Site Back Online

I have just returned to website work after an extended break of about 6 months. During those six months it was necessary to change hosting companies and only the front page of the site was working (unless pages were hosted elsewhere – other than the main host). To cut a long story short I will be attempting to get the remainder of the site back up as soon as I possibly can. Sorry for the outage.

Latest Updates: Kevin’s Portal Updated

I have just updated what I call ‘Kevin’s Portal.’ It has taken me a while to get several updates to the portal online as I was unable to access the server – I now can obviously.

The latest update includes ‘Kwitter.’ Kwitter is an online daily newspaper of the links I post in Twitter and those of links posted by people I follow on Twitter. It needs to be remembered that I don’t necessarily agree with everyone I follow on Twitter and there are a number of reasons I follow some of these people. Depending on what gets ‘selected’ for this newspaper (it is virtually automatic at this stage) may also determine just who I follow on Twitter. I have no interest in following unwholesome rubbish for example.

This newspaper service is currently in ‘alpha,’ so it is fairly new. I do like the idea behind it though and I think it does have a lot of potential. The actual link to the paper itself (which updates daily) is at:

Reformed Particular Baptist Fellowship Set to Close

I have just been notified to major changes on the Grou.ps platform which hosts our Reformed Particular Baptist Fellowship at:

http://grou.ps/particularbaptist/

Due to these changes which include a move to a subscription basis for our group to continue to exist as is, it looks likely that the fellowship will close. There will be a free option, however, that option includes an open membership (anyone can join, post anything – spam, etc, and all content will be open for anyone to see). It is looking likely that there will be no more community associated with particularbaptist.com.

We do however have a page on Facebook at:

The problem with this page is that it also an open type of page, with anyone that ‘likes’ the page becoming a member of it – there is little way of moderating activity, etc. I think that particularbaptist.com will have to go back to an older way of doing things, with a forum, chat, etc – all on different platforms.

It seems that there are shake ups right across the World Wide Web on community type sites – even Google Groups are changing, making Google an impossible alternative also.
